Israel/Palestinian Territories – Israeli shelling of the Holy Family Church in Gaza (18 July 2025)

France condemns in the strongest possible terms the unacceptable attack by the Israeli Army that struck the Holy Family Church and left three people dead and a dozen injured.

The Minister called the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem to express France's solidarity with Gaza's Christian community following the attack on the Holy Family Catholic Parish, placed under France's historic protection by the 1913 Constantinople agreement.

Every day, dozens of civilians are killed in Gaza by Israeli fire and bombardments. These attacks are unjustifiable. Civilians must never be targeted, and neither should civilian infrastructure, places of worship, hospitals or shelters in Gaza.
France reiterates its call for an immediate ceasefire as well as a complete lifting of the humanitarian blockade in order the facilitate the resumption of a massive, dignified, unhindered delivery of aid for civilians by the UN and organizations that abide by international law.
