Revamp Clothing Swap Festival to take place in the Southfield Pavilion January 17

The ReVamp Clothing Swap Festival will take place in the Southfield Pavilion on January 17 from 12-5 p.m. This event will bring together community members interested in clothing reuse, sustainability and creative expression.

The event invites participants to bring clean, gently used clothing, shoes, bags and accessories to exchange for other secondhand items. Admission is $25, with tickets available online at this link or at the door. All excess donations will be distributed to Metro Detroit nonprofits.

How it works

  • Bring clean clothing items you are ready to part with on the day of the event.
  • Pay the $25 entry fee.
  • Swap freely - participants may take unlimited items.
  • Remaining items are donated to local Metro Detroit non-profit organizations.

Event activities extend beyond clothing swaps. Attendees can take in live music and performances, explore DIY fashion and alteration stations, and participate in creative activities such as face painting and screen printing. The event will also feature food from local businesses, pop-up vendors and makers, and opportunities to join a style-focused fashion show. Guests may also vote for their favorite stylists in a live-streamed style competition.

Founded and hosted by Detroit creative and community-builder Amanda Sweet, affectionately known as The Creative Fairy Godmother. ReVamp transforms traditional clothing swaps into festival-style experiences that celebrate self-expression, sustainability, and belonging. Attendees bring their gently used clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories and trade them in for unlimited new-to-them pieces - all while enjoying live entertainment, community workshops, pop-up vendors, and local food.

"The ReVamp is where fashion meets sustainability and community," stated Amanda Sweet. "It's a chance to reinvent your style, uplift a local cause, and connect with others who care about the planet and each other."

Organizers say the event aims to reduce textile waste while strengthening community ties. According to The ReVamp, previous festivals have diverted tens of thousands of pounds of clothing from landfills and redistributed items throughout the region.
