Key West Police Unveil Poinciana Pelicans-Themed Patrol Car

The Key West Police Department was thrilled to unveil the newly wrapped Poinciana Pelicans School Resource Officer vehicle this week.

Students of Poinciana Elementary School lined up to watch and cheer as School Resource Officer Kenny Beerbower and Sgt. Alex Rodriguez paraded the proud pelican motif in front of the school.

Sponsored by Rick Haskins at Colocada Vacation Keys Rentals and Buy the Keys, the vehicle joins the school-spirited vehicles at Key West High School and Gerald Adams featuring those school's colors. In addition, other school resource officers drive cars specially wrapped for autism awareness.

The new wrap is emblazoned with the Poinciana Pelicans logo. The vehicle sports the school colors of orange and green, and the side features a flying pelican, the Royal Poinciana tree, and the American flag under the Key West Police script. The back window displays strong autism awareness messages.

"We are continually honored with the community partnership we enjoy with Poinciana Elementary School," said Chief Sean Brandenburg. "From the Pelicans and Police visits to events like today, we are building stronger bonds with our community and our kids."
