Fatal Semi-truck Versus Pedestrian Crash

On May 15, 2026, at approximately 2:40 p.m., officers with the Reno Police Department and REMSA responded to the area of Wells Avenue and Claremont Street on the report of a semi-truck striking a pedestrian. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The Reno Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) is handling the investigation.

Wells Avenue will be closed between Vassar Street and Burns Street for the next several hours. Please follow us on X for updates regarding the reopening of the roadway.
