Eastern New Mexico University Enrollment Increases Again for Spring 2026 Semester

PORTALES, NM - Eastern New Mexico University released spring 2026 enrollment figures, showing continued growth on the main campus, with spring enrollment up one percent over spring 2025.

Total headcount increased to 5,422 students this semester, exceeding last year's count of 5,378. The University saw the most significant growth in graduate headcount, up 3.5 percent to 1,531 students, versus 1,479 in 2025.

Total headcount for undergraduate students remained mostly even, coming in at 3,891 students, compared to spring 2025's count of 3,899.

Across all students, total credit hours enrolled increased by three percent to 54,149 in spring 2026, reflecting more full-time degree-seeking students.

"This work represents the tremendous efforts across campus," Dr. James Johnston, ENMU chancellor, said. "I appreciate all who help us provide access and opportunities for the students attending our University."

This semester marks the sixth consecutive spring of overall enrollment growth for the main campus.
