Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Zhou Limin Visits Karolinska Institutet

On April 13, 2026, Ambassador Zhou Limin visited Karolinska Institutet and held in-depth discussions with Vice President Martin Bergö and others on strengthening educational and research cooperation in the medical field. Mr. Huang Liqiong, Counsellor for Education at the Embassy, attended the meeting.

Ambassador Zhou introduced the latest achievements in China's pharmaceutical and medical innovation, and commended Karolinska Institutet for its outstanding contributions and global influence in medical education, life sciences, and public health. He expressed hope that the institute will further strengthen cooperation and exchanges with Chinese universities, research institutions, and medical organizations, continue to make new progress in medical talent cultivation and collaborative scientific innovation, and jointly contribute to global health and the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.

Mr. Bergö noted that Karolinska Institutet attaches great importance to cooperation with China, and that both sides have already built a solid foundation for collaboration in medical education and research. He expressed willingness to further deepen practical cooperation with China, and to enhance two-way exchanges and joint training programs for students and scholars between China and Sweden.
