Whitestone Community Association

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Whitestone Community Association

PROJECT NAME: ADL 417428

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Approximately 10 miles north of Delta Junction, on the west bank of the Tanana River near the confluence of the Delta and Tanana Rivers.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Within the S ½ of the SW ¼ of Section 6, and the N ½ of the NW ¼ of Section 7, Township 9 South, Range 10 East, Fairbanks Meridian, as shown on the attached maps.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Whitestone Community Association has applied for a private non-exclusive easement, DNR is considering instead whether to grant a public access easement of variable width and length measuring a total of approximately 4.23 acres. Currently installed infrastructure includes approximately 1,400 feet of road, a boat launch, two floating docks, a parking area, and an alternative boat launch (see attached maps). Principal users of the existing infrastructure are Whitestone Community residents; however, this easement would be available to the general public for use as well.

REQUESTED TERM: Indefinitely or until no longer needed.

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: September 10, 2025

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land, and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
