CSBS Annual Survey of Community Banks Now Open

The 2026 Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) Annual Survey of Community Banks is now open. CSBS invites you to participate and share your perspectives on the opportunities and challenges facing community banks today.

Now in its 14^th year, the Annual Survey provides a unique opportunity for community bankers to inform researchers, regulators, and policy makers. Survey findings are frequently cited in speeches and research shaping national policy discussions. For example, both Federal Reserve Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle Bowman and Governor Michael Barr have referenced survey results in public remarks. The survey has also informed external analysis, including a recent American Banker op-ed on compliance burden and academic research published through SSRN.

The survey takes approximately 25-35 minutes to complete, and you may save your responses and return at any time before the deadline. Survey results will be presented this fall at the Community Banking Research Conference, co-hosted by CSBS, the Federal Reserve System, and the FDIC.
