  • Includes evaluation of more than 120 wells across OGDC's mature fields
  • Provides integrated technology and digital solutions to optimize production performance, unlocking vital sources of untapped domestic supply for energy security

HOUSTON and LONDON - Sept. 2, 2026 - Baker Hughes, an energy technology company, announced on Wednesday a multi-year contract with Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDC) to maximize production performance from its mature oil and gas fields.

The award represents the continuation of a decades-long collaboration between the companies and directly supports Pakistan's energy security ambitions to source more of its energy from domestic resources.

Drawing on decades of deep multidisciplinary expertise in mature fields, Baker Hughes will work closely with OGDC to develop a clear understanding of the challenges in its Tando Alam Oil Complex and Pirkoh field and provide tailored redevelopment plans. During this phase, Baker Hughes will align key opportunities directly with OGDC's production targets and economic objectives across more than 120 wells, advising on integrated technology and digital solutions designed to improve production performance and recovery.

"OGDC has clear goals to support a more energy secure future for Pakistan and we are excited to help support them on their journey," said Baker Hughes Executive Vice President of Oilfield Services & Equipment Amerino Gatti. "Through our close and collaborative working relationship, we will help OGDC get more value from their existing assets through integrated planning and technology solutions that unlock vital sources of untapped domestic energy supply. This is a prime example of how Baker Hughes is helping rewrite the energy equation in Pakistan and we look forward to getting started on this project."

Following the initial evaluation, Baker Hughes and OGDC will shift focus to operational execution. During this phase, Baker Hughes will drive forward innovative solutions, ranging from AI-enabled chemical injections designed to improve flow assurance to high-graded well workovers and interventions aimed at restoring production from underperforming wells.

The agreement signing ceremony was held in Islamabad at OGDC headquarters in the presence of Special Secretary Petroleum Mirza Nasiruddin Mashood Ahmad, U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Natalie A. Baker, MD/CEO OGDC Ahmed Hayat Lak, and Baker Hughes Vice President of Integration and Solutions Yaqdhan Al Nabhani and South Gulf GeoZone Director Asal Nabili.
