Marketing team takes fourth at AMA event

Proto, a junior from Savannah, Georgia, pursuing a degree in marketing, began her time at UNG in a different degree program. However, a class with Mary Norman, senior lecturer of marketing, changed Proto's course.

"She has shaped me into loving marketing," Proto said. "I have immersed myself in the Mike Cottrell College of Business, and they have really set me up for success."

Norman and Dr. Caroline Muñoz, professor of digital marketing, advise the student marketing team.

Proto's team's presentation entailed creating a marketing plan for a local business presented to them in a case just prior to the competition.

"I felt very prepared. It was the first real-world example of doing something that I would be doing in the future," Proto said. "Our faculty members want to see me succeed and help me wherever they can. We have such great professors and mentors. And our clubs and workshops help us grow and prepare for our careers."
