The Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) is proud to announce a new enhancement to its Online Services, allowing customers to use their Digital Driver's License/ID (or mDL) to complete address changes quickly and securely. Customers can now use their digital driver's license to verify their identity when submitting an online address change request.
Currently, it is available for Apple Wallet with more Smartphone options to come.
This innovative update provides Georgians with a more efficient and secure way to manage their driver's license information without the need to visit a DDS location. By utilizing their mobile driver's license, customers can seamlessly verify their identity and prepopulate required information, streamlining the address change process through DDS Online Services.
Looking ahead, additional Online Services will expand to accept mobile driver's licenses (mDL) as a trusted form of identification.
"DDS continues to prioritize modern, customer-focused solutions that improve both convenience and security," said Commissioner Angelique B. McClendon. "The integration of mobile driver's license technology into our Online Services is another step forward in delivering faster, more accessible service options to the citizens of Georgia."
The mobile driver's license is a secure digital version of a physical driver's license, accessible on a smartphone and designed to protect personal information while enabling quick identity verification. This latest enhancement reflects DDS's ongoing commitment to leveraging technology to better serve customers and reduce in-person wait times across the state while protecting the integrity of one of our State's most important processes.
Customers can access the address change service by visiting the DDS website and following the prompts to use their mobile driver's license for authentication https://dds.drives.ga.gov/_/?link=IDVTST
