TRAFFIC ALERT - Kent County - Closure of Northbound S. Governors Ave between Water Street and Bank Lane
Closure of Northbound S. Governors Ave between Water Street and Bank Lane
Dover - The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces to motorists that Northbound South Governors Avenue will be closed between West Water Street and Bank Lane starting on Thursday, October 23, 2025, through Thursday, November 20, 2025 (weather permitting). This closure is necessary for the installation of underground stormwater pipe and manhole.
Detour: Motorists on Northbound S. Governors Avenue wishing to continue north will turn left onto W. Water Street, right onto S. New Street, right onto W. North Street, and return to S. Governors Avenue.
Motorists on Eastbound W. Water Street wishing to travel north on S. Governors Avenue will turn left onto S. New Street, right onto W. North Street, and return to S. Governors Avenue.
Motorists on Westbound W. Water Street wishing to travel north on S. Governors Avenue will turn right onto S. New Street, right onto W. North Street, and return to S. Governors Avenue.
Motorists should use caution and expect minor delays in the area.
