Senator Collins Visits Sappi Somerset Mill

SKOWHEGAN, ME - U.S. Senator Susan Collins visited Sappi's Somerset Mill today to tour the facility and speak with employees and company leaders. At the conclusion of the tour, Senator Collins presented Plant Manager Marty Richard and Sappi North America CEO Mike Haws with a copy of the Congressional Record recognizing the 50th anniversary of operation for the Somerset Mill.

"Sappi's Somerset Mill is one of Maine's largest employers and has been a cornerstone of Somerset County for five decades," said Senator Collins. "From its skilled workforce and state-of-the-art operations to its $1 billion investment since 2018 to improve and expand plant operations here in Maine, the Somerset Mill continues to make important contributions to our state's economy and the greater Skowhegan community. I was pleased to recognize this milestone in the Congressional Record and to thank the employees whose hard work has made this success possible."
