British firms benefit from UK SMR programme

Rolls-Royce SMR is realising its potential to create regional economic growth and strengthen the UK's supply chain with news that the value of contracts awarded by Great British Energy - Nuclear (GBE-N) has reached almost £900m and that, of these deals, over 70% have been won by British companies.

Rolls-Royce SMR was named as the selected technology in the GBE-N small modular reactor (SMR) competition in the Summer of 2025. Earlier this year, it signed a deal with GBE-N that paved the way for the delivery of SMRs at Wylfa, on the coast of Ynys Môn (Anglesey), in North Wales.
