Here are five, fun library activities for kids while they are out of school.
1. Steps & Stories: A Seasonal Storytime Stoll
Sunday, March 22 | 3 - 4 pm | Brookwood Library
A kid-paced nature walk around the ponds behind the library, with rhymes, songs, and books related to the Spring Equinox.
2. Inner Explorers: Yoga & Mindfulness for Curious Kids
Tuesday, March 24 |1:30 - 2:15 pm | Brookwood Library
Explore your imagination and inner calm with Yoga Playgrounds! Through themed yoga movement, breathing games, and mindfulness activities, kids will build body awareness, confidence, and tools to relax - all while having a great time. Ages 5 - 11. Registration required.
3. Prepare with Pedro
Wednesday, March 25 | 10:30 am - 12 pm |Shute Park Library
Join Pedro the Penguin from the American Red Cross for a fun, kid-friendly introduction to earthquake preparedness. This program helps kids feel confident - not scared - while building important safety skills in an age-appropriate way. Recommended for children ages 4 - 8 and their caregivers. This program is presented in English and Spanish. Registration required.
4. Science Sunday - PLIX Presents: Cat in the Box!
Sunday, March 29 | 3 - 4:30 pm | Brookwood Library
A STEM program from our partners at the MIT Public Library Innovation Exchange (PLIX). All ages are welcome to get "certified" in Material Science through a series of hands-on crafts and experiments. Can you keep the cat dry? What would keep it warm in the winter? Don't miss this opportunity to build, craft, and explore real-world science.
5. Storytime x 9
