HUNTINGTON, Ind. - June 4, 2026 - Huntington County Healing Partners (HCHP), a funding alliance uniting the Huntington County Medical Society and Parkview Huntington Hospital in a shared vision, is launching its 2026 grant cycle.
The application period for the 2026 Healing Partners grant funding opened June 1 and runs through June 30. The grants are available to organizations that tackle pressing local health issues in ways that promote better health and greater vitality for people throughout Huntington County.
More information and applications are available at huntingtonhealingpartners.parkview.com.
The alliance was created in 2021 thanks to an endowment gift of more than $1.28 million from the medical society. Parkview Huntington contributes to the grants from funds set aside annually for its Community Health Improvement work.
The cooperative effort of the medical society and the hospital provides annual grant funding for programs and equipment related to initiatives targeting public health priorities identified in the Huntington County Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA).
Conducted by Parkview Health every three years, the CHNA identifies trends in health among Huntington County residents. The most recent assessment, conducted for the 2025 to 2028 period, established community health priorities that include access to mental health care and addiction services, child abuse and neglect, and obesity, among other findings.
Ten local agencies were awarded more than $87,000 in the 2025 round of Healing Partners grants.
"Improving quality of life across our communities requires a thoughtful, multifaceted approach," said Doug Selig, MSN, RN, MBA, NEA-BC, vice president of patient care services, Parkview Huntington and Parkview Wabash hospitals. "The Healing Partners alliance is designed to cast a wide net, welcoming solutions from local nonprofits that are new, bringing innovative ideas forward, or that may not have had opportunities to participate in past grant funding through the Parkview Huntington Community Health Improvement (CHI) program. We continue to be encouraged by the shared vision that grant recipients bring to improving community health."
A committee of representatives from the medical society and the hospital reviews qualifying grant applications and administers the Healing Partners program.
