2025 Resident Council Awards Highlights Past Leaders for their Service to DCHA Communities

DC Housing Authority (DCHA) celebrated the contributions of its past Resident Council leaders with an evening of music and dancing at the Westin Hotel in Downtown Washington, D.C on Jan. 8. The agency put on the 2025 Resident Council Awards dinner to honor the former leaders from the years 2021-2024.

Resident Relations Manager Fashad Tyler gave words of encouragement and reminded them of the importance of their work in the DCHA community. Each leader left the dinner with an award commemorating their service.

Former leaders gave reflections from their tenure in a segment of the program called, "Leadership Perspectives." Some spoke from the podium about their experiences working to make life better for their fellow public housing residents.

Commissioner Denise Blackson attended the event to show her support. Guests enjoyed music provided by a live band and DC's Own DJ Frank White.
