On behalf of the Government of the United States of America, I extend our congratulations to the people of Equatorial Guinea in honor of the 57th anniversary of your independence on October 12. The United States remains committed to working together to further developing our mutual commercial interests and promoting economic growth. We appreciate Equatorial Guinea's work with the United States and our allies on maritime security and to promote a more positive business climate in the greater Gulf of Guinea. In the coming year, we look forward to deepening our trade and security ties.
As you celebrate another year of independence, we send our wishes for a peaceful and prosperous year for all Equatoguineans.
