Buckeye appoints new Deputy City Manager

After a national search, Buckeye has selected Jared W. Askelson as its newest Deputy City Manager. Askelson was previously the Finance Director in Goodyear.

Askelson brings over 25 years in government finance experience serving at both state and municipal levels. His career highlights include strategic planning, investment management, financial reporting, procurement, budget planning, utility billing and implementing city code and impact fee updates.

"I'm excited to be selected to be part of the Executive Team in Buckeye," Askelson said. "This is a great opportunity to continue building on the city's success with a team of incredible professionals dedicated to making Buckeye a great place live, work and raise a family."

Askelson is right at home in Arizona, having previously served in key roles for the cities of Goodyear, Surprise, Mesa and Casa Grande. His history and deep understanding of the state's municipal landscape, coupled with his leadership capabilities, will be instrumental in Buckeye's continued growth, financial stability and strategic development.

Mr. Askelson has a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Arizona State University West. He will begin his duties on November 10.
