Chair Collins Announces Senator Husted to Join Appropriations Committee

Washington, D.C. - Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced that Senator Jon Husted (R-OH) will join the Committee after Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) was confirmed as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.

Senator Husted will serve on the following Appropriations subcommittees: Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies; Financial Services and General Government; Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies; Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies; Legislative Branch; State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs.

Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE) will assume the gavel as Chair of the Legislative Branch subcommittee. The subcommittee oversees the funding, budget, and operations of the legislative branch of the U.S. government, including the Senate, Capitol Police, Architect of the Capitol, Library of Congress, and the Government Accountability Office.
