Finland's and Åland's Ministers for Nordic cooperation, Anders Adlercreutz and Annika Hambrudd, will co-host the autumn meeting of the ministers for Nordic cooperation in Åland on 11 September 2025. A seminar on the future of Nordic cooperation will be held in connection with the meeting on 12 September.
The meeting will discuss the main themes of Finland's and Åland's Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers. The aim is to advance the prime ministers' shared vision for the Nordic region to be the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030.
One of the key topics on the ministers' agenda is the project to coordinate the identification of persons in the Nordic countries. The priority project is part of the efforts to remove cross-border barriers. The representatives of Finland and Åland in the Nordic Council of Ministers for Digitalisation, Ministers Anna-Kaisa Ikonen and Ingrid Zetterman, will also attend the meeting.
The meeting will also discuss ways to strengthen security in society on the basis of the declaration issued by the Nordic prime ministers in May.
"Cooperation during Finland's and Åland's Presidency has been excellent, and it is important for us to also look together at the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead. I am very pleased to be able to host this seminar together with Minister Annika Hambrudd to address these topical and important issues," says Minister Anders Adlercreutz.
