South County reclaimed water temporarily off beginning Feb. 11

Pinellas County Utilities customers who receive reclaimed water from the South Cross Bayou Advanced Water Reclamation Facility will experience a temporary service interruption beginning Wednesday, Feb. 11, through Friday, Feb. 20. This interruption is necessary while we complete an important rehabilitation project on the facility's filtration system.

This project will ensure treated water meets regulatory nitrogen limits set by Florida Department of Environmental Protection and prevent system failures that could lead to emergency spills throughout our service area. By reducing nitrogen pollution in our community, we're also preventing algae blooms, which helps protect fish, wildlife and our tourism and fishing industries.

Customers will be impacted in the southern barrier islands, Belleair, Seminole and Pinellas Park (see map for outage areas).

Before this outage, customers should prioritize watering essential areas/landscape that require more care, check irrigation systems settings and disable automatic timers.
