State Representative Steve Demetriou (R-Bainbridge Twp.) today announced that to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources' (ODNR) NatureWorks grant program awarded Sagamore Hills Park over $39,000 for various park improvements.
"I'm grateful to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for awarding this $39,605 grant to support recreational upgrades in Sagamore Hills Park," said Representative Demetriou. "Investing in our local parks strengthens our communities, enhances quality of life for residents, and ensures families have safe and accessible spaces to enjoy the outdoors. I'm proud to see these dollars coming back to our district and look forward to the improvements this funding will help make possible."
This community staple encompasses over 53-acres and has several baseball fields, two pavilions, a gazebo, and much more. Sagamore Hills Park will use this funding to install new playground equipment and make current walking pathways more accessible throughout the park.
The NatureWorks grant provides reimbursement assistance to local government subdivisions for the acquisition, development, and rehabilitation of recreational areas. To learn more about this program and to see the full list of awardees, click here.
