Northbound lane reopened on Kunia Road, Monday, June 29

HONOLULU - The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation (HDOT) issues this update on the 24/7 closure of the northbound lane of Kunia Road, in the vicinity of the National Security Agency Facility, between Kunia Drive and Wright Avenue.

The slope stabilization was completed along the northbound lane of Kunia Road the week of Friday, June 26. The lane was reopened to morning commuters on Monday, June 29.

Crews will return Sunday, July 5, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., to restripe the northbound lane of Kunia Road fronting the National Security Agency Facility between Kunia Drive and Wright Avenue.

Traffic in both directions will be maintained on Kunia Road by contraflow in the southbound lane. Flaggers will control the alternating traffic throughout the single lane closure.
