Leader Schumer Statement On Donald Trump’s Executive Order Attacking And Effectively Ending Mail-In Voting

New York, NY - Today, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) released the following statement on Donald Trump's Executive Order to attack and effectively eliminate mail-in voting:

"Everyone can feel just how afraid Donald Trump and Republicans are of losing the upcoming elections by how hard they are pushing their radical and illegal voter suppression policies. This Executive Order attacking mail-in voting is just the latest in a series of frantic efforts by Donald Trump to rig elections for Republicans by trying to change the rules. Trump and Republicans know if Americans are allowed to vote with the same rules as the 2024 elections, they will lose.

"Donald Trump and his MAGA cronies have done everything they can to deprive millions of Americans of their right to vote through pushing the SAVE Act and illegal executive orders. But Senate Democrats have been united, held firm, and will continue to fight their baseless, extralegal attack on Americans' right to vote.

"Make no mistake about it, just like his previous voter suppression attempts, this too will fail. Senate Democrats will never stop fighting to preserve democracy and protect every American's right to vote from Trump's senseless attacks. We will see him in court."
