Grazing Opportunity on City Properties for Weed Abatement

The City of Santa Rosa seeks parties interested in grazing their farm animals on any of the following Santa Rosa Water managed properties for weed management for a 5 month period of time during the 2025 calendar year.

This announcement will be open February 1 - 15, 2025, after which a list will be generated and participants for 2025 will be contacted. In order to add your name to the list, please complete the online form between February 1-15, 2025. Any questions can be directed to the city's Real Estate Services team at [email protected].

In order to be added to the list, the following conditions must be satisfied:

1. Eligible parties must be an existing agricultural water re-use and Ag Lease Vendor/Customer

2. All parties must agree to the terms of the contract template and, if selected, must sign it within five business days of selection.

1. Each user may graze their farm animals for no longer than five months in any location, then must remove their livestock;
2. All users will provide, monitor, and repair adequate temporary fencing at their own cost where necessary, and/or where existing fencing is not adequate to keep the animals from crossing onto other parcels, roads, etc.
3. Owner of grazing livestock assumes all responsibility for safety and security of grazing livestock pursuant to the contract in place.

3. All participants must meet the City's mandatory insurance requirements and furnish such requirements upon selection.
