TSA Offers Tips for Fans Departing Omaha Eppley Airfield Following NCAA Men’s College World Series Baseball Championship

OMAHA, Neb. - The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is advising fans attending the 2025 NCAA College World Series Baseball Championship from June 13-23 at Charles Schwab Field to know the ground rules when it comes to security screening. Fans can avoid travel curveballs by coming prepared for flying out of Omaha Eppley Airfield (OMA).

"With the annual NCAA Men's College World Series Baseball Championship played in Omaha, we know the airport security checkpoint will be an especially busy place during the 10 days of the tournament. TSA is fully staffed to ensure security operations go smoothly and efficiently for all travelers," said TSA Federal Security Director for Nebraska Brian Schilhabel. "TSA is relying on fans to be part of the team by arriving early and preparing for the security screening experience before coming to the airport."

Security checkpoint delays are often caused by travelers bringing prohibited items in carry-on baggage. Avoid getting in a pickle and use TSA's available travel tip resources before heading to the airport. Travelers can visit the "What Can I Bring?" webpage to find out if an item can travel in carry-on luggage or should be checked. Another option is texting questions to 275-872 ("AskTSA") or through @AskTSA on X or Facebook Messenger, where an automated virtual assistant is available 24/7.

Travelers can avoid making an error by remembering baseball bats, including the fan favorite mini bat souvenir, are prohibited in carry-on luggage. Bats of any size must be placed in checked baggage.

Hit a grand slam with TSA officers and follow the security playbook on traveling with liquids in carry-on luggage. All liquids must be in quantities of 3.4 ounces (100 ml) or less and fit in a single, quart-size plastic bag. Liquids greater than 3.4 ounces should be placed in checked baggage. Foods such as popcorn, peanuts and Cracker Jacks® are allowed in any quantity in carry-on or checked luggage.

To increase batting averages, "Travel with Ease" through the TSA PreCheck® lane. Eligible travelers do not need to remove shoes, belts, light outerwear, laptops, electronics larger than a cell phone or travel-size liquids from carry-on luggage.

If an item is accidentally left behind at the security checkpoint, travelers still have an extra out. The Lost and Found Desk at Omaha Eppley Airfield is located on the lower level of the terminal, between the Allegiant and United check-in counters. Passengers can also visit the airport's Lost & Found webpage to file a claim online.
