Governor Polis Memorializes Emergency Declaration to Support Communities Recovering From Flooding in Western Colorado

DENVER - Today, in an Executive Order, Governor Polis memorialized his verbal disaster emergency declaration from October 12, 2025, made in response to the western Colorado flooding. The disaster declaration activated the State of Colorado Emergency Operations Plan, directed the Office of Emergency Management to take action to support impacted communities, and transferred $6 million to the Disaster Emergency Fund to support response and recovery efforts. Governor Polis also directed state agencies to pursue all available federal funding for response and recovery efforts.
