The City of Santa Barbara is taking proactive measures to ensure public safety and minimize potential impacts from the current Major Storm Forecast for Santa Barbara County, including Free Emergency Storm Parking for residents who live in flood-prone areas. Residents are encouraged to stay informed, take necessary precautions, and report any concerns.

Stay home if you do not need to drive. Drive safely if travel is necessary. Avoid rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying or flood-prone locations, and stay off the roads during peak rain times.

Free Emergency Storm Parking Activated
Parking Location: City Lot 2 - Roof (914 Chapala Street)
Available:

  • Opens: Monday, October 13 at 3:00 p.m.
  • Closes: Wednesday, October 15 at 10:00 a.m.

Register online at SantaBarbaraCA.gov/StormParking

Residents must register for storm parking during the activation registration window. Unregistered vehicles will be charged at the standard hourly parking rate. The registered license plate must match the vehicle to receive validation.
