North Carolina Insurance Commissioner has announced that Victim Assistance Centers (VACs) will open in Brevard, Marion, Jefferson, Lenoir, Sylva and Old Fort to aid those affected by Hurricane Helene.
The following VACs will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.:
"We are working to set up additional VACs and will continue to coordinate with law enforcement agencies, fire departments, rescue squads, civic groups, charities and churches to assist victims of this terrible storm," Commissioner Causey said. "The Department of Insurance will continue to host events to help with insurance claims and other needs."
