HONOLULU - The Hawai'i Department of Transportation (HDOT) has scheduled additional nightly closures of Runway 8R/26L from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., beginning Sunday, June 7 and concluding on Sunday, June 14 at 8 a.m. The closures are needed to complete painting of the refreshed runway and taxiway that were repaired this past week. (Note: The runway repair work that was announced last week is expected to be completed ahead of schedule by 4 a.m., Sunday, June 7.)

During the closures, arriving flights will primarily use Runway 4R as normal, with some using Runway 8L. Departing flights will likely use Runway 8L. 0249

HDOT has coordinated with airlines and other partners to minimize impacts to flights. All work is weather permitting.

HDOT appreciates the community's patience and understanding while the needed work is conducted to ensure safe operations at HNL.
