Lexington man charged with insurance fraud

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Isaac Lee Walker, 19, of 130 Charlotte Drive Extension, Lexington, was charged with insurance fraud, a felony.<_o3a_p>

Special agents with the Department of Insurance's Criminal Investigations Division accuse Walker of providing false information, saying that there was no pre-existing or unrepaired damage to the left side of his Honda Accord, in a claim with Allstate Property and Casualty Co.<_o3a_p>

The offense occurred on May 16.<_o3a_p>

A criminal summons was served on Walker on Sept. 30. He is scheduled to appear in Davidson County District Court on Nov. 25.<_o3a_p>

Commissioner Causey encourages North Carolinians to help keep insurance premiums low by reporting suspicious fraud.<_o3a_p>

"Insurance fraud is not a victimless crime," Commissioner Causey said. "It hits all of us in the pocket through higher premiums."<_o3a_p>
