For Sept. 11-13 USA Wheelchair Football Tournament

Team Also To Participate In Nov. 1-2 Dallas Tournament

The city of Las Vegas wheelchair football program, now in its fourth season, will send a competitive team to two USA Wheelchair Football tournaments this year. Fourteen team members will travel to participate in tournaments Sept. 11-13 in Phoenix, Arizona, and Nov. 1-2 in Dallas, Texas.

The city's USA Wheelchair Football League competitive team, the Las Vegas Raiders, includes five military veterans, but 15-25 veterans participate in the city's wheelchair football and basketball programs in tryouts, practices, camps and clinics.

The city of Las Vegas adaptive recreation programs are promoted locally to Veterans Administration offices, specialty gyms, prosthetic companies and occupational and physical therapists. Appropriate wheelchairs are provided to use during recreation programs. Wheelchair football practices are held Mondays and Wednesdays, 6 to 8 p.m., at Dula Community Center, located at 451 E. Bonanza Road.

The Dula Community Center is designed to be inclusive and accessible for everyone, offering a variety of options for individuals with disabilities. Offered activities include:
