Student Filmmakers Challenged to Create Community Safety PSAs

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (March 12, 2026) - Local students in grades 7 through 12 have a chance to step behind the camera and make a difference through Keep Middlesex Moving's new safety PSA video contest. The challenge asks young filmmakers to produce a 30- to 60-second video illustrating how people of all ages can walk, bike, roll, or move together safely. Whether the tone is serious, inspiring, or even humorous, the core message remains the same: when a community moves safely together, everyone benefits.

Beyond the opportunity to have their message shared, students are also competing for cash prizes. The top filmmaker will take home $100 for first place, with $50 awarded for second and $25 for third.

Aspiring directors and advocates have until April 13 to submit their work. Those interested in participating can find full details and application instructions at kmm.org or reach out directly to [email protected] with any questions.
