Officials with the NC Department of Adult Correction (NCDAC) have promoted Leslie Henley to the position of Judicial District Manager (JDM) in Judicial District 12, effective Oct. 27.
In her new position, Henley will oversee Community Supervision operations in Cumberland County. The district includes 76 probation/parole officers and staff supervising more than 2,100 individuals sentenced to probation, parole or post-release supervision.
"Leslie Henley's steady rise in Community Supervision is a testament to her dedication and drive to change lives for the better and build safer communities," said Leslie Cooley Dismukes, secretary for the Department of Adult Correction. "The breadth of her experience and training will be great assets to her team."
"I am very pleased to promote Leslie Henley," said Tracy K. Lee, chief deputy secretary for Community Supervision. "Her hard work and commitment have prepared her well for this management position. I know she'll do a great job."
Henley began her career in 2012 in District 16, supporting Robeson, Hoke, and Scotland counties, as a probation/parole officer, field specialist, and intake chief probation/parole officer. During her tenure in District 16, she obtained several certifications, including General Instructor with specialties in Controls, Restraints and Defensive Techniques (CRDT) and Firearms.
In 2022, she transferred to District 12 in Cumberland County, where she continued to serve as an intake chief probation/parole officer. She was also an active member of the Cumberland County Reentry Council Board. In 2025, Henley was promoted to Assistant Judicial District Manager (AJDM) for District 11, supporting Harnett, Lee, and Johnston counties.
A native of Lumberton, Henley is a graduate of Fayetteville State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. She has completed several training courses, including PEAK, Leading at all Levels (LAAL) and the NCDAC Summer Master Leadership Program. Henley also serves on a number of committees, including Supervision Contact, and holds multiple certifications.
