Mexico City, August 31, 2026. - Intcomex, the leading technology products and value-added solutions distribution platform in Latin America and the Caribbean, successfully concluded the 21st edition of its Retail Workshop (RWS), bringing together more than 400 attendees, including manufacturers, retailers, industry partners, and strategic players from across the region-including commercial partners from Venezuela once again-to explore market shifts and new opportunities for the channel.
Held August 25-28 in Mexico City, RWS 2026 centered on the concept "Premium is a strategy," a vision that encouraged attendees to rethink how to create greater value beyond price and build business propositions that bring together products, ecosystems, services, and experiences. The event also provided a platform to examine the current technology market landscape and emerging macroeconomic challenges, including a challenging global supply chain environment driven by rising memory and storage costs amid growing demand from data centers and artificial intelligence.
"Retail Workshop is undoubtedly the leading platform shaping the technology agenda across the region-an essential, high-value gathering for industry leaders," said Bruno Durán, Regional Marketing Director at Intcomex.
The agenda combined keynote presentations, one-on-one business meetings, executive networking, and an innovation showroom, creating opportunities for manufacturers and channel partners to connect, discover new solutions, and explore concrete business opportunities. A highlight of the event was a keynote by Giuseppe Stigliano, an internationally recognized expert in retail and digital transformation, who explored how evolving consumer behavior and the accelerated adoption of artificial intelligence are prompting brands to rethink traditional business models and adapt to new consumption patterns.
Another key topic, presented by Nicolás Boffi, VP of Consumer at Intcomex, was the transformation of the technology market, shaped by the evolution of artificial intelligence, changing device replacement cycles, cost pressures, and rising consumer expectations. Against this backdrop, RWS emphasized the importance of expanding the commercial conversation beyond the traditional product sale.
"We've grown tremendously over the past few years, and we want to keep driving innovation in the market, continue launching brands together with our partners, and earn their trust," said Boffi, an executive at the company, which has 38 years of experience in the industry. "We want customers to choose us because we are a company that provides services and delivers value that improves their business profitability."
Beyond showcasing products and solutions, RWS 2026 established itself as a market intelligence platform where partners identified opportunities to extend the lifecycle of existing equipment through peripherals, connectivity, and services-turning market challenges into sustainable, long-term business models.
From Products to Higher-Value Propositions
For the channel, this means looking beyond the primary device and exploring opportunities around each customer through accessories, peripherals, connectivity, services, and other solutions that can help build a broader ecosystem.
In this context, "Premium is a strategy" emerged as a way of thinking about business. It is not simply about selling higher-priced products, but about creating more complete and relevant propositions for customers.
With 21 editions under its belt, Intcomex Retail Workshop continues to strengthen its role as a key platform connecting manufacturers, distributors, and channel partners, turning industry trends into conversations that can lead to new business opportunities.
