WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced $8 million in federal funding for Harry Reid International Airport. The funding comes from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and will go toward the reconstruction of several gates at Harry Reid International Airport, efficiencies, and other upgrades.
"Harry Reid International Airport plays a crucial role in our tourism economy, serving as a gateway to Las Vegas," said Senator Rosen. "I'm proud to announce $8 million in federal funding is going to Harry Reid International to renovate gates and help upgrade our airport. I'll keep working across party lines to ensure our travel and tourism industry has the resources it needs to support good-paying jobs in Nevada."
Senator Rosen has fought to ensure that Nevada's airports have the funding and resources they need. She introduced legislation to pay TSA workers during the Republican-led shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security, which has been blocked several times by Washington Republicans. Last year, she also helped secure over $18 million in federal funding for airport improvements across the state. Senator Rosen also helped secure new firefighting vehicles for Harry Reid International airport through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that she helped to write and pass.
