Gabon Welcomes Royal Initiatives to Support Africa's Emergence

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, in charge of Integration and the Diaspora of the Gabonese Republic Mrs. Marie Edith Tassyla-Ye-Doumbeneny expressed her country's full support on Tuesday in Rabat and welcomed the initiatives launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the emergence and development of the African continent.

During a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Mr. Nasser Bourita, the Gabonese head of diplomacy commended the momentum generated within the framework of the Process of the Atlantic African States (PAAS) and the Royal Initiative to facilitate access to the Atlantic Ocean for Sahel countries.

Tassyla-Ye-Doumbeneny praised the Leadership and commendable contribution of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the international Community's efforts to promote peace, stability, and development in Africa.

In this context, she expressed her country's commitment to further enshrining cooperation with the Kingdom of Morocco across various areas of collaboration.

The two ministers also welcomed the momentum generated within the framework of the Process of the Atlantic African States to transform the African Atlantic region into a geostrategic framework offering significant opportunities for synergy in strategic areas such as the environment, food security, health, energy, logistics interconnectivity, resource pooling, the exchange of experiences, which can serve as a zone of shared development and stability.

They further welcomed His Majesty the King's Initiative to facilitate access of Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean and underscored the strategic importance of this Initiative, which forms part of Morocco's active solidarity with its African brother nations.
