City of Evansville to Install Indiana’s Largest Splash Pad at Iglehart Park

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - May 7, 2026 - The City of Evansville today announced plans to install a new splash pad at Iglehart Park, located at the former Lloyd Pool site. The splash pad is expected to be the largest in Indiana and will expand recreational opportunities for families across the community.

The project, which is funded as part of the $24 million Parks Bond approved in 2024, is scheduled to begin this month with substantial completion anticipated in late summer. Project oversight will be managed by ARC Construction, with splash pad equipment supplied and installed by PlayPros.

"We are committed to making sure every neighborhood has access to safe, beautiful parks," said Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry. "This project brings new life to a space so many families remember and reimagines it for the next generation. It's about creating something special on the north side that families can enjoy all summer long and take pride in for years to come."

The new splash pad will be fully ADA accessible and feature multiple interactive areas designed for a range of age groups, including a toddler zone, a mixed-use zone, and a dedicated area for children ages 5-12. Later phases of development will feature additional amenities, including trees, benches, shade structures, and a wildflower meadow.

The splash pad will operate seasonally from May through October, with daily hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. A new restroom facility, which will remain open year-round, is also included as part of the project.

Additional updates will be shared as construction progresses.
