For eight decades, Vietnam's Voice of Vietnam (VOV) has walked alongside the nation. Now the broadcaster enters "radio in the rising era" - showing how traditional radio can transform for modern digital life.

VOV began its digital shift early. "As early as 2004, we began transferring all radio programs onto computer networks," said Nguyen Nang Khang, Deputy Director of VOV's Program Production and Archive Center. The effort included digitizing hundreds of thousands of hours of archived audio. Today's studios demonstrate radio's evolution. "Journalists can record audio, shoot video, and livestream simultaneously - broadcasting on traditional radio and also on YouTube, Facebook, and other social media apps," explained VOV Vice President Dr. Vu Hai Quang.

The transformation changed how reporters work. "A warm voice is no longer enough. We need creative elements," said Head of Current Affairs of VOV1, Hang Nga. Ngo Duc, a reporter in VOV2's Culture-Society-Ethnic Affairs Department moved from carrying just a small recorder to using a compact backpack of digital tools. The government selected VOV to build Vietnam's national digital radio platform, recognizing its leadership while VOV maintains its mission as Vietnam's voice of trust and companionship.
