New York, NY (June 3rd, 2026) - Global Japanese music phenomenon Ado has announced the release of a limited-production 7-inch vinyl edition of her deeply personal song " Vivarium ," arriving September 2, 2026 via Universal Music Japan.
Written and composed by Ado herself as a reflection of her own life story, " Vivarium " was created alongside the autobiographical nonfiction novel Vivarium: Ado to Watashi (Vivarium: Ado and Me), released earlier this year. Arranged by Takafumi"KO-K"Kokei, the bandmaster behind Ado's acclaimed live performances, the song transforms Ado's emotional struggle with self-denial and her search for hope into a powerful Vocaloid-inspired rock anthem. The track also garnered widespread attention through the release of Ado's first-ever live-action music video.
In addition to the standalone vinyl, a special limited-edition bundle featuring an exclusive T-shirt will be available through UNIVERSAL MUSIC STORE and the Ado Official Music Shop. The design features the memorable underwater scene from the song's music video.
The announcement arrives amid a banner year for Ado. The global phenomenon has also been confirmed to perform at the Official Lollapalooza 2026 Aftershowat Chicago's historic Aragon Ballroom on Friday, July 31, 2026, giving fans an intimate opportunity to experience her electrifying live performance ahead of her appearance at the festival.
Adding to her growing list of international collaborations, Ado is also featured on the theme song for the highly anticipated upcoming video game Stranger Than Heaven, joining Snoop Dogg, Tori Kelly, and Japanese artist Satoshi Fujihara. The game spans five decades of Japanese history, from 1915 through 1965, across cities including Osaka, Tokyo, and Hiroshima. Read more about it HERE .
Ado's momentum has continued into 2026 with major international milestones, including her inclusion in this year's Lollapalooza lineup and her headlining performance at Zipangu, a new Japanese music event presented by Cloud Nine and Goldenvoice. Held at Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, the event further cemented Ado's growing global presence. This summer, Ado will also take the stage at Nissan Stadium for two landmark performances, continuing her record-breaking rise both in Japan and internationally.
In celebration of her fifth anniversary and the release of her 2025 tour DVD, Ado recently partnered with Complex for her first-ever North American pop-up experience at Complex LA. The one-weekend-only event drew overwhelming fan turnout, with attendees lining up before opening and exclusive merchandise selling out within hours.
The immersive pop-up transformed the space into a "world of Ado," featuring curated installations, a visual timeline of her career, signature blue rose displays, and interactive fan elements, including a message board for attendees. Due to overwhelming demand, select items from the collection are now available online, with additional restocks planned.
