Snell Receives Approval for Stevenson Avenue Residential Development

Alexandria, Virginia (June 17, 2023) - Snell Properties received unanimous approval from the Alexandria City Council on Saturday, June 15th for its proposed redevelopment of the site located at 6101 Stevenson Avenue site in Alexandria, Virginia.

Snell Properties will raze the existing office building and redevelop the property with a 7-story multi-family property, bringing 271 one, two, and three-bedroom units with 248 at market rate, 19 at 60% AMI, and 4 at 40% AMI. The redevelopment will also provide underground parking for 340 vehicles, removal of one existing curb cut and a substantial amount of surface parking from Stevenson Avenue, and new streetscape improvements.

"This redevelopment project offers an opportunity to reinvigorate the Stevenson Avenue site," Tim Friemel, Vice President of Development of Snell Properties, said. "We are thrilled to be adding new housing stock to the greater Alexandria area."

This project is on track to be shovel-ready as early as next year.
