NV Energy is currently offering an additional opportunity in 2026 for customers to apply to the company's Expanded Solar Access Program (ESAP). Applications are now open for customers in the low-income category, providing an additional chance for qualified customers to participate in the program for the remainder of 2026. The application period for the additional opportunity is April 1 through May 31, 2026.
The ESAP program allows eligible customers to access the benefits of solar energy at no added cost and without installing solar panels. Low-income customers who participate in the program receive an energy rate that is lower than the standard rate.
In 2025, low-income ESAP participants saw average savings of 9 to 10 percent on the portion of their bill related to energy usage, depending on their customer rate. Program enrollment has grown steadily since applications first opened in fall 2021 for participation beginning in 2022.
Submitting an application does not guarantee enrollment. If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the available program capacity within a category, a lottery will be conducted to determine which applicants will participate.
To qualify, low-income customers must provide proof of income and may not exceed 80 percent of the Area Median Income, based on guidelines published by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. More information about eligibility requirements is available at nvenergy.com/esap.
