Chinese Consulate General in Kuching Xing Weiping Attends the China-Malaysia(Sarawak) Book Fair

On September 13th, 2025, a three-day book exhibition jointly organised by the Kuching Chinese Cultural Arts Association and China's Straits Publishing and Distribution Group was launched at Boulevard Shopping Mall.

Consul-General Xing Weiping, Kuching South Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng representing Deputy Premier of Sarawak Dr. Professor Sim Kui Hian as well as Sarawakians from all walks of life attended.

In Consul-General Xing's speech he described the book fair as "a modern continuation of the Silk Road spirit" and noted the deep historical links between Fujian Province and Sarawak, as early Chinese settlers brought education, culture, and traditions that shaped Sarawak's unique Chinese heritage. He expressed hope that more Sarawakians would embrace opportunities to learn about China and strengthen people-to-people bonds.
