Concord, NH - Attorney General John M. Formella, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall, and Berlin Police Chief Jeff Lemoine announce additional information regarding the investigation into the deaths of Sandra Marisol Fuentes Huaracha and Michael Gleason, Jr. in Berlin.
At approximately 9:45 A.M. on July 6, 2025, officers with the Berlin Police Department responded to the La Casita restaurant at 4 Hillside Avenue in Berlin in response to a 911 call for reported gunshots. Upon entering the business they discovered an employee, Sandra Marisol Fuentes Huaracha (age 25), deceased behind the bar. Later, authorities discovered Michael Gleason, Jr. (age 50) deceased inside one of the bathrooms. Both Ms. Fuentes Huaracha and Mr. Gleason were in a prior domestic relationship with one another.
Earlier today, the New Hampshire Associate Medical Examiner Dr. Abigal Alexander, and Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Mitchell Weinberg conducted autopsies on Ms. Fuentes Huaracha and Mr. Gleason, respectively. Dr. Alexander determined that Ms. Fuentes Huaracha's cause of death was multiple shotgun wounds, and her manner of death is homicide. Dr. Weinberg determined that Mr. Gleason's cause of death was shotgun wounds of the head, and his manner of death is suicide.
Although the investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident remains active and ongoing, it has been determined based on evidence gathered to date that Michael Gleason, Jr., shot and killed Sandra Marisol Fuentes Huaracha, and then shot and killed himself.
No additional information is expected to be released at this time.
