The Building Licenses in Palestine, Second Quarter 2026

Decrease in the number of building licenses in Palestine in the Second quarter of 2026 compared with the first quarter of 2026The total number of building licenses issued in the second quarter of 2026 decreased by 1% compared with the first quarter of 2026, and increased by 11% compared with the second quarter of 2025, at the same time the number of new building licenses increased by 0.4% compared with the first quarter of 2026, while it increased by 12% compared with the second quarter of 2025.

A total of 1,814 building licenses were issued in the second quarter of 2026, of which 1,199 are new buildings.

The area of licensed buildings (residential and non-residential) totaled 974 thousand m2, of which new buildings made up 838 thousand m2 and existing buildings comprised 136 thousand m2.

The total number of licensed dwellings was 4,105 with a total area of 678 thousand m2, of which 3,554 were new dwellings with a total area of 583 thousand m2 and 551 were existing dwellings with a total area of 95 thousand m2.

The number of new dwellings in the second quarter of 2026 increased by 3% compared with the first quarter of 2026, while it increased by 20% compared with the second quarter of 2025.
