Friday, May 1, 2026: Cuesta Water Main Incident - Update #2

10:30 p.m. Friday, May 1, Update #2: Tonight, approximately 67 households, north of Cuesta Park, that were impacted by a water main breach are now under a "Boil Water" notice.

The affected residents received the updated notice during Friday evening's neighborhood meeting, hosted by the City of Mountain View. The "Boil Water' notice is an improvement from the "Unsafe Water Alert - Do Not Use Your Water' advisory that has been in effect for Cuesta Drive (600 block), Leona Lane (600-700 block), Montalto Drive, Drucilla Drive, and Carla Court. This latest order came following a week of water quality monitoring and pipeline inspection and flushing.

These households are being advised that they may now use boiled tap water or bottled water for drinking and cooking purposes. View the new "Boil Water notice.

The City anticipates a status update on fully restoring water services in the coming days. The water main contamination incident near the intersection of Cuesta Drive and Bonita Avenue involved a contractor, hired by the City, who was conducting water replacement activities.
