"I'm proud to be a principal coauthor of AB 2017 to officially recognize Eid as a state holiday! I applaud Assemblymember Haney, Senator Wahab, and the bill's cosponsors for their leadership on this important bill. California shines brightest when we recognize and honor our diverse communities, their cultures, and their contributions to our great state," said Assemblymember Kalra. "I was proud to introduce the legislation that made Diwali a state holiday and am equally proud to join in the effort to recognize our vibrant Muslim community by working to make Eid a state holiday as well."
