Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Guo Haiyan Attends the 2025 UN Chinese Language Day

On May 13, the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) hosted the 2025 UN Chinese Language Day. H.E. Ms. Guo Haiyan, Ambassador of China to Kenya and Permanent Representative of China to UNEP and UN-Habitat, H.E. Ms. Zainab Hawa Bangura, Under-Secretary-General and Director-General, UNON, as well as foreign envoys in Kenya, United Nations officials, faculty and students from the University of Nairobi and the Kenyatta University, who are totally over 100 persons, attended the event.

Ambassador Guo introduced the poetry and romance, wisdom and philosophy, development and diplomatic concepts contained in famous Chinese poems. She welcomes all parties to take advantage of the opportunity of Chinese Language Day to explore the world of Chinese language more deeply and understand China's concepts in modern science and technology, economy, culture, diplomacy and other fields.

Bangura said Chinese language has a long history and the largest number of users, and has made great contributions to promoting mutual learning among civilizations and strengthening multilateralism. She called on all parties to enhance mutual understanding and actively build a more open and prosperous world.
