The City of Oceanside is pleased to announce Frederick J. Mayo as the new Water Utilities Director. As an accomplished industry expert with decades of experience, Mayo brings dynamic leadership skills and a strong infrastructure background to the Water Utilities Department.
"Fred's results-based leadership and proven expertise will provide continuity to our organization and further propel the Water Utilities department to greater success," said Oceanside Assistant City Manager Michael Gossman. "His focus on infrastructure management, along with his years of operational experience positions Fred to continue to grow our ability to provide safe, reliable water and wastewater services to our community."
Previously, Mayo served as the Public Works Director for the City of Oroville. During his tenure, he directed capital projects, including water infrastructure, wastewater systems and Department of Transportation initiatives. His work on strategic plans for infrastructure and electrical upgrades led the City of Oroville to the modernization of their facilities.
Mayo is an advocate for sustainable development and public-private partnerships, while focused on enhancing city services through innovation, sustainability and operational excellence. His work on securing funding sources for long-term projects helps support the progress of these initiatives.
